A Mediumship Reading with Angela Artemis

A psychic reading and/or a mediumship reading has always been on my list of things I would like to do.  Just recently, I finally had the chance to do one.  I entered a contest and won a mediumship reading with Angela Artemis of Powered by Intuition.  For clarification, a mediumship reading is one where the medium communicates with beings from the spirit realm, people who have died and now reside in spirit form.  This is the type of reading that I participated in with Angela.  She also does intuitive coaching and psychic readings. 

One of the things that has always held me back is not knowing if the psychic, psychic medium, or intuitive is legitimate.  It’s not like there is some kind of rating system for these folks.  You pretty much have to go by testimonials, but even with those I’m hesitant, because I never know if the testimonials are legit.

When I was looking for a blog plugin to handle the star ratings for my ebook reviews, one of the major features often touted was auto fill of fake reviews.  It’s not something I would ever use, because I don’t believe in deceiving people to make sales, but it made me even more aware of the potential for dishonesty.

I suppose the only solid ways to determine legitimacy is to get a personal recommendation from a friend, read testimonials from people you trust, or to try it yourself.  Since I won a free reading with Angela, I had a great opportunity to test for myself, and really had nothing to lose other than an hour of my time.  I want to mention here that the free reading I won had no strings attached.  Angela did not require that I write anything here about my experience.  I am choosing to share because I enjoyed the experience and I think that Angela does truly have the gift of speaking to those on the other side.

After first contacting Angela, she asked what time zone I was in so that we could schedule a time.  The mediumship reading was to be performed over the phone.  We hit a small hitch when she mentioned that she does not do readings over the cell phone, and we haven’t had a land line phone for several years.  She suggested Skype as an alternative.  Skype offers free calls through the Internet to other Skype users.

I was curious about her decision to not use cell phones, so I asked her about it.  She mentioned unreliable clarity of the cell phone and that sometimes the cell phone itself can interfere with the reading.  My take is that poor cell phone reception is all too common, and since clear communication is essential for something like this, it’s best to use a land line to eliminate that potential interruption.

I had never used Skype before, so I installed the software and searched around the house for my headset with built in microphone.   The install was pretty easy.  At this point the communication medium was all set.  Angela also recommended that I put out a signal that I would be working with a psychic medium.  Basically just spend some time thinking about who I’d like to communicate with.

The following week the time finally came.  I settled into my chair and waited for the call to come.  Angela called promptly at our scheduled time, and she gave me some brief instruction on what to expect.

The first spirit that came through discussed moving from New York to somewhere on the beach.  Angela was giving some pretty good details.  I really had no idea who this could be.  Angela gave some more details, but I couldn’t relate to any of them.

This same type of thing went on for the next four spirits that came through.  Some things sounded like they could be familiar, but I couldn’t place the clues they were giving.  I was getting a little frustrated, but part of the problem was that I’m not very close to anyone that has died (or at least I wasn’t while they were living.)  Most of my family that passed on lived far away and I rarely saw them, and I’m fortunate that I haven’t lost many friends.  More often it’s been friends of friends, or extended family on my wife’s side.

Angela did great though, she continued to allow spirits to come through and I continued to try to recognize them.

After the reading, I went over everything with my wife, and found that most of the people that came through were folks from her side of the family.  The first one for example, was likely a Great Aunt.  Her son moved from New York and I only knew her son, I had never met her.  My wife and my mother-in-law confirmed some of the details.  The same happened for some of the other spirits that came through.  After the reading, my wife and mother-in-law spoke and it actually became quite obvious the identities of those coming through.

After Angela thanked the last spirit in the chain of ones I didn’t recognize, but others in my family did, she asked if she could have the name of one I’d like to contact.  I gave her the first name of my wife’s grandmother.  I did not mention who she was or how she was related.  She didn’t want any additional info to cloud her communication.  I found it interesting that she was hesitant to use a name.  She said it sometimes clouds her perception since names often come with preconceived identities or images.

Finally, I began recognizing the clues that came through.  Angela told me this person died in a hospital due to pneumonia, which was correct.  One thing that stood out to me was that Grandmother had a dog she loved very much.  I had not mentioned any dog to Angela, and hadn’t really thought about it at the time, when Angela told me she was being shown a poodle.  She showed the poodle a couple of times and Angela got very strong impressions of it, telling me that she must have really loved this dog.  Another amazing detail that came through was that she worked in some time of assembly line job.  I could not verify this and had never heard it talked about, but my mother-in-law later confirmed it.

This was a fun and interesting experience.  It was really quite amazing to hear, in great detail, the spirits describing their most recent life on our little planet.  After having my mediumship reading with Angela, I can confirm that she is very in tune with the other side and is very skilled at deciphering the messages as they come through.

One recommendation I have is to take very good notes so that you can go back later and confirm any details that you are unsure of with family or friends.  This really helped us to identify some of the spirits I didn’t recognize.
