Lesse... lust can kill the physical body VIA Sexually transmitted diseases (Including porn-transmitted diseases... -sniggers-), Has the potential to cause envy to the point of murder. E.g. adonis of greek mythology and others that can't remember...

gluttony is more obvious. not much needed in explaining. although,
"Laute - eating food that is too luxurious, exotic, or costly.
Nimis - eating food that is excessive in quantity.
Studiose - eating food that is too daintily or elaborately prepared.
Praepropere - eating too soon, or at an inappropriate time.
Ardenter - eating too eagerly. -wiki paste."

Next on the list is greed, I find it's deadliness happens more obviously with compulsive hoarders... such as myself... good examples are 7 dumpsters and a corpse, mammon
Sloths, rhetorical situation; lay on bed too long, get bed sore, doctors too far away, get infected and die. That is how it usually kills the sloths. but also can kill in less obvious secondary ways. no one seems to be botherd to write deaths related to sloths.

wrath/anger; hurting other beings, self harm directly and indirectly.

envy and Jealousy are two different things. though related, different degrees and effects occur. Envy is the desire of anothers supposed better off quality by depriving the object of said envy. People do not express jealousy through a single emotion or a single behavior. They instead express jealousy through diverse emotions and behaviors, which makes it difficult to form a scientific definition of jealousy. Scientists still do not have a universally agreed upon definition of jealousy. They instead define jealousy in their own words, as illustrated by their own examples.

Pride; usually intergrates the "Deadliness" of envy of both the prideful who had his pride hurt and the pride that causes envy in others. Achilles and his treatment of Hector's corpse in Homer's Iliad demonstrates hubris.

You know what's so funny. The ignorance of the Catholic church. Sin is a word that simply means "to miss the mark". By definition, sin is NOT a noun and it never was. Yet, presto, the Catholic church loves to turn "sin" into a noun. If only it could be that easy, lol.

Well, anyway, I need to go get my telescope out now. I want to watch the Sun go round the earth :)

Yep, excess is key in making these deadly. I also find that moderation is better in most parts of our life.

Envy is a tough one. We always see others that have more than we do, whether it's money, happiness, or beauty. It's hard to be happy with what we have when we see others with more.

Good point. These do operate in all of us. We just have to keep them in check and make sure they don't overpower the corresponding virtues in our lives.

Hey Eric. I found it easy to understand from reading your post why the seven sins are "so deadly", cause in describing them, probably the most used word is "excessive". All these involve too much of something. This is in general a dangerous thing from my point of view. Moderation usually works best.

Eric, you ask what one we have have found the hardest to overcome. I would have to say envy. Most everyone I know has experienced envy at one time or another.

Well, Eric, I don't look at these things as sin, but rather through an archetypal lens. Take the jester, for instance: that part of us is fun, joyful, living life in the moment. But it also can veer off into gluttony, sloth, irresponsibility, etc. And that's just the point: we all have all of these things operating in us. I am both responsible and irresponsible, accepting and envious. I think the danger comes when we don't accept that this is who we are, we push it aside, and it operates covertly, in shadow. It starts running the show and pulling the strings. Better to get it out into the light, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the thoughtful post.
