Mish Mash January Edition

by Eric Watermolen on January 12, 2010

I’m not feeling like a lot of thinking today, so I’m going with a simple post tonight.  I started my new job yesterday, and my brain is tapped from all the new stuff.  New people, new places, new policies and procedure, new computer systems, etc.  With all that stuff sloshing around in my noggin, there’s not room for much else tonight.  So far, the new job is going great.  It seems like a great bunch of people, and looks like I will enjoy the work.

I hope everyone is having a good new year.  We had a great Christmas.  We spent time with grandparents on both sides of the family and our daughter had a blast opening presents.  She really got into it this year, and it was truly a joy to watch her excitement.

I was able to take some time off between jobs, and we took a few days for a little vacation to Savannah, GA.  We stayed right in the Historic District and toured some of the old houses and a couple of museums.  The town is absolutely beautiful and full of history.  Many of the houses here were built in the early 1800s, and all the historic houses had a small plaque showing the date it was built.  It was really neat to walk among all the old houses.

Hey Eric – Wow, I know how that is when you start a new job. So much to take in all at once – overwhelm. But I’m glad to hear it’s going good, and I’m sending you my best thoughts. But I am missing your brilliant comments over at my blog, so when things calm down for you, come back and visit!

Patty, I’m definitely going to get back to making the rounds of all my favorite blogs. I’m feeling a little disconnected from my online world. Thanks for the good thoughts. Next week will be a good week to catch up, I have Monday off for Martin Luther King day and Friday off because we get every other Friday off.

Hi Gordie, I think there will be much opportunity for learning and growing here. I’m already beginning to see some projects that I can plug into, and some individuals I can learn from. Thanks for the well wishes.
