Hey everyone.  I just wanted to put up a quick post to share something cool that Ali over at Soulful Body & Mind just started.  He had an idea to start writing his own quotes.  I think it’s a cool idea so I wanted to share it. 

Writing your own quotes is a great way to highlight some of your personal philosophies.  Here is his Ali’s first quote.

That’s what my four year old daughter asked as we were flipping through the channels and came across a PBS show that had some seagulls frolicking in the ocean.

“Is that the baby birds in the oil?”

It wasn’t baby bird covered in oil, but it made me sad that this question would cross the mind of my sweet little four year old daughter.  It made me sad that we live in a world where carelessness and gross negligence could cause such a humongous environmental disaster.

I have tried to avoid bringing this topic to Eden Journal.  It’s been on my mind a lot, since this oil is beginning to wash up on the shores of my state.  Rather than rant about how unbelievable it is to me that something like this could happen, I’m going to try to stay positive.  I’m going to hope that this oil will eventually break down and that the earth will clean itself.  I’m going to focus on the long term and hope that in five or ten years we won’t see any remnants of the oil.  I’m going to hope that most of the sea life will flee the huge clouds of oil floating beneath the surface.  I’m going to hope that as a society we can find a viable and renewable replacement to fossil fuels.  Join me in my hope and lets try to focus on the positive.
