DeBary House for Sale, Beautiful Pool Home, 262 Palmetto Springs

We have listed our home for sale, and while our realtor has some great info posted online, I wanted to add this feature page with more detail.  The house is listed as a standard sale, not a short sale or foreclosure, meaning you can move in faster and without any red tape.  The house is well cared for and has never been smoked in.

The house is located in the Springview subdivision in DeBary, FL.  We are about 40 minutes from the beach and an hour from Disney.  DeBary is a great town and still retains some of that small town feel.  The area is far enough from Orlando to get out of the hustle and bustle, while still having lots of nearby shopping areas.  There are also a number of great parks nearby, and it close to the St. John’s River for fishing and boating.

Four Bedroom Three Bath or Three Bedroom and an Office

The house is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house, with a family room, a living room, dining room, spacious kitchen, and a breakfast nook.  It also has a beautiful swimming pool and spa.  Note that our realtor can’t technically list it as a 4/3, because when the house was built we had them delete the closet in the fourth bedroom and replace it with built in shelves to better serve as our office.  So, according to the rules of realty in Florida that makes it a 3/3.

Entry, Dining, Family Room

Our home was built in 2002.  The home builder was a custom builder which allowed us some modifications that made the home have a more open feel.  The family room, dining room, and entry area have no dividing walls, making the entire space feel open and airy.  We chose light colors throughout which makes everything feel happy and calming.  If you believe houses can have good vibes (and maybe even if you don’t) you’ll feel the good positive energy as soon as you walk in the door.

The kitchen is spacious, and has plenty of room for cooking and entertaining.  The walk-in pantry and numerous cabinets make plenty of room for storing all your kitchen goodies.

The living room is adjacent to the kitchen, meaning the home chef can watch TV and interact with family while cooking.

Breakfast Nook

The breakfast nook is a great place for casual dining and overlooks the swimming pool.  It is also adjacent to the living room, meaning you can watch TV from the table instead of piling onto the couch with TV trays.

Master Suite

The master bedroom is 15×15 and features a tray ceiling.  A sliding glass door opens to the pool deck.

The master bath is spacious and well designed.  It features his and hers sinks, with plenty of room between to provide a buffer when husband and wife are both getting ready at the same time.  Above the sinks you’ll find a wrap around mirror for you and your loved one to share, or as is more often the case with me, for your wife to see all angles to make sure everything is ship shape before heading out for the evening.  The garden tub is wonderful for unwinding after a busy day.  The shower is beautifully tiled and features frameless glass.  The bathroom itself gets it’s own little room in the corner.  One of the great things about this bathroom is the square shape.  It really give you plenty of room to move about as you get ready to meat the day.

The split floor plan allows the kids some private space away from their parents (or vise versa.)  Two of the adjacent bedrooms (one of which is the office I mentioned above) share a jack and jill bath with sliding pocket doors to maximize the space.

The other bedroom makes a great guest bedroom, or good for a teenager, as it has it’s own bathroom featuring a walk in shower instead of a tub/shower combo.  It is also near the back door which leads to the pool deck.  This bedroom also makes a good play room, since it’s adjacent to the living room making it easier to keep an eye on the little ones.

Heated Swimming Pool and Spa

The pool was added in 2008 and has a large pool deck.  The deck is made up of brick pavers, making it cooler in the summer and less slippery.  The is heated with electric heat meaning you can extend your swimming season much longer than you can with solar heat.

The spa is huge, the biggest size we could build without upgrading the pump and heater.  The spa has a natural gas heater, meaning it heats and is ready to use in just minutes.  The gas heat can also be used for the pool on special occasions.  We’ll sometimes heat up the pool for a day or two in the winter and have a winter pool party.

One of the best features in the pool is that the steps span the entire width of the pool.  This is especially great for kids that aren’t quite tall enough to stand in the pool as it gives them more room to play.  It’s also great for adults, giving them room to lounge and a place to sit.  The deep end features swim outs/benches on each side, providing a place to sit as well as easy exit in case you want to jump into the spa.

Room For Your Boat or Trailer

One side of the house is fenced and gated with a 12 foot gate.  This is a great place to store a boat or trailer.

Natural Gas

Springview is a natural gas community, meaning natural gas is available in the home.  Natural gas is awesome for several reasons.  A natural gas hot water heater keeps the water hot, even when you use up all the hot water in the tank, the gas is able to keep the warm water flowing.  A gas dryer dries clothes more quickly.  The gas oven is great for baking, and makes a superb frozen pizza.  Another nice plus is that when the power goes out, the natural gas still works.  That means if we ever get a hurricane or bad storm that takes out the power, you’ll still be able to cook and you’ll have hot showers.

Community

Springview is a great family neighborhood.  One of the best things about Springview, especially the back section that we live in, is that there are many young families here,  so there are always other kids to play with.  Even better, while there are kids in the neighborhood, it still stays nice and quiet so you can enjoy peaceful evenings.

Springview also offers a community pool, a basket ball court, a playground, and volleyball court.  The playground has a great slide and some swings.  Our daughter loves to play here because of the great slide.
