When my husband decided it was time to upgrade in the world of technology, he started by visiting the AT&T phone store, where he was convinced by a shrewd sales professional that he needed the iPhone3.
When he arrived home he explained detail by detail of all what it could do.
I thought about the 30-year business he ran with 40 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures, e-mails, surfs the web and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I figured he could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space. Besides all he had to do was touch an “app” and it automatically directed him to the proper place for whatever he wanted. How’d that work out [continue reading]

My family and I went to Legoland last week, and since it’s a brand new theme park, I wanted to share the experience. Overall, it was a good experience. Our party consisted of my wife and I, our five year old daughter, our four year old nephew, our eleven year old niece, and the kids’ grandmother. All the kids had a fantastic time, and we rode almost everything we cared to ride.
Legoland is specifically geared towards kids under 12. This makes it quite unique in the realm of theme parks. That meant that my daughter, at 43 inches tall was able to ride almost everything in the park. The only ride she couldn’t go on was the Flight School which had a 44 inch height requirement. If you’ve ever been to a theme park with a child between 36 and 48 inches tall, you can relate to the frustration of not being able to go on the “cool” rides. The low height requirements for most of the rides makes Legoland very appealing to kids in that height range, and to their parents.
Was it worth the price? [continue reading]

I’m feeling like giving away some ad space to some of my readers as a thank you for being here. If you have a website, blog, or product you’d like to advertise, you can grab some free advertising space in my sidebar. If you don’t have any of those things, you could just put up a message for someone special.
I’m giving away five (3 slots left) 125×125 ads and 10 text ads.
Click the “Advertise” link in the menu bar at the top of the page and then click any of the “Purchase Now” links. When you click the link you’ll be taken to a page where you can enter all the details for your ad, upload an image, and enter a link. After you complete the ad entry I’ll have to approve the ad before it goes live.
Use coupon code “friends” (without the quotes) during checkout to get your ad for free.
This will get you a free 125×125 ad or a text ad. If you end up at a paypal screen, then the all slots are filled. Free ads are one per person, for a duration of 30 days, and I’m doing this on a first come first serve basis, so grab your ad space quickly to ensure you get a spot. I’ll update this post when the ads sell out.
You can also use that same coupon code to get $10 off one of the larger ad spaces. These normally sell for $25, so you’ll be able to get one for just $15.
Thank you for reading and for supporting Eden Journal.

Children grieve for the loss of a parent. Parents grieve for their child. Siblings grieve for loss of their sibling. Losing someone you love is one of the most difficult parts of life.
Each is terribly sad over the loss of their loved one. The person, now in spirit, comes through. Once they hear that the loved one’s passing was without pain they’re relieved. The deceased also communicates being present at several family events that have taken place after their death, describing what different people wore and did at these events. The person seeking the reading is elated to learn that their loved one is still with them in spirit attending these family events.

A psychic reading and/or a mediumship reading has always been on my list of things I would like to do. Just recently, I finally had the chance to do one. I entered a contest and won a mediumship reading with Angela Artemis of Powered by Intuition. For clarification, a mediumship reading is one where the medium communicates with beings from the spirit realm, people who have died and now reside in spirit form. This is the type of reading that I participated in with Angela. She also does intuitive coaching and psychic readings. [Continue Reading]

I was thinking today about Reiki healing, and healing in general. I had a thought that we often set limits on the healing that can take place. We limit the speed of recovery and the effectiveness of treatments. The way we set these limits is through our thoughts and actions.
I first considered the idea that we limit our own healing several years ago when I noticed people talking about being sick. Some cold or flu bug was making the rounds, and I noticed the different ways in which people handled being sick. Most talked about it. They talked about how bad they felt, how little sleep they were getting, how much they wanted to just go home and go to bed. I made a realization one day. These folks didn’t actually want to get better. What they wanted was some sympathy and a chance to get some attention. They used the illness as an excuse to get some things they wanted or needed. Take all the history together and give the solution to people’s spiritual unrest: From where do we come from? What is the purpose of our lives? Why is there injustice and why some of us have greater abilities than the others? So much the world advanced but one single answer to satisfy everybody couldn’t be found.
One of the superior attributes that distinguish humans from animals is his thinking potential. (Remember Descartes “I think, therefore I am” -this was his argument for proving to himself he is real and the world around him.) Be it ancient or modern times the search for the truth has occupied human consciousness. Some of them preferred to answer with the mind, others with their heart. [Continue Reading]

Two of my friends recently released new books and I am excited to share the news with you.
The first is a book about Self Love. Evelyn Lim of Abundance Tapestry wrote this book after receiving many emails in response to a couple of posts she had written about self love. She discovered that normal people, just like you and me, often have trouble loving themselves unconditionally.
The second book is a collection of witty and entertaining stories written by KJ Force. KJ is one of the contributors to my upcoming ebook about learning to fall asleep. I enjoy her entertaining perspective on life. Why you need to read these books. [continue reading]

Recently I sent love to a small herd of goats. Sending love to goats sounds a little weird, right? Maybe… but I wanted to experiment with sending out a vibe of unconditional love and acceptance. I have been thinking about how often humans hold onto feelings of greed, anger, hatred, and jealousy. It’s the kind of thing you see every day in the people around you, at work, on the highways, and in the news. These feelings that people hold onto are sometimes seen in obvious manners when they make rude comments or say nasty things about someone. More often, though, these feelings are seen in not so obvious ways, or may not even be seen at all, but rather just sensed.
How do goats respond to love? Continue Reading

I’m looking for some volunteers to test the methods for falling asleep that will be featured in my upcoming eBook about learning to fall asleep. Last month I sought volunteers to share their favorite methods for falling asleep, and this month I’m looking for some folks that would like to test these methods.
Most of you have probably seen the junk that passes for suggestions to fall asleep. Like avoiding caffeine is some big secret. Rather than regurgitate the stuff you already know, I’m sharing some real techniques to fall asleep.
While I think the techniques are fantastic, I really want to prove that these techniques to fall asleep really work. To do that I need your help. Get paid to sleep [continue reading]
