Chinese Astrology

Take all the history together and give the solution to people’s spiritual unrest: From where do we come from? What is the purpose of our lives? Why is there injustice and why some of us have greater abilities than the others?  So much the world advanced but one single answer to satisfy everybody couldn’t be found.

One of the superior attributes that distinguish humans from animals is his thinking potential.  (Remember Descartes “I think, therefore I am” -this was his argument for proving to himself he is real and the world around him.)  Be it ancient or modern times the search for the truth has occupied human consciousness.  Some of them preferred to answer with the mind, others with their heart.  [Continue Reading]

Self Love Secrets and Whatever... I'm Still Here

Two of my friends recently released new books and I am excited to share the news with you.

The first is a book about Self Love.  Evelyn Lim of Abundance Tapestry wrote this book after receiving many emails in response to a couple of posts she had written about self love.  She discovered that normal people, just like you and me, often have trouble loving themselves unconditionally.

The second book is a collection of witty and entertaining stories written by KJ Force.  KJ is one of the contributors to my upcoming ebook about learning to fall asleep.  I enjoy her entertaining perspective on life. Why you need to read these books. [continue reading]

Sending Love to Goats – The Power of a Love Meditation

by Eric Watermolen on October 21, 2011

Sending Love to Goats - The Power of a Love Meditation

Recently I sent love to a small herd of goats.  Sending love to goats sounds a little weird, right?  Maybe… but I wanted to experiment with sending out a vibe of unconditional love and acceptance.  I have been thinking about how often humans hold onto feelings of greed, anger, hatred, and jealousy.  It’s the kind of thing you see every day in the people around you, at work, on the highways, and in the news.  These feelings that people hold onto are sometimes seen in obvious manners when they make rude comments or say nasty things about someone.  More often, though, these feelings are seen in not so obvious ways, or may not even be seen at all, but rather just sensed.

How do goats respond to love? Continue Reading

I need your help to test techniques for falling asleep

Registration is closed.  Thank you to everyone that signed up.

I’m looking for some volunteers to test the methods for falling asleep that will be featured in my upcoming eBook about learning to fall asleep.  Last month I sought volunteers to share their favorite methods for falling asleep, and this month I’m looking for some folks that would like to test these methods.

Most of you have probably seen the junk that passes for suggestions to fall asleep.  Like avoiding caffeine is some big secret.  Rather than regurgitate the stuff you already know, I’m sharing some real techniques to fall asleep.

While I think the techniques are fantastic, I really want to prove that these techniques to fall asleep really work.  To do that I need your help. Get paid to sleep [continue reading]

Do the Desicisions of Today Impact You Tomorrow?

by Eric Watermolen on September 27, 2011

This week I read a post by Srinivas at The Skool of Life titled “It’s Not Going to Make a Difference Tomorrow.”  This post touches on a topic that I had discussed recently in my post on How to Make a Decision, when I talked about looking at the big picture of our decisions.

I wanted to mention the post from by Srinivas because I think he nicely sums up the idea that most of the decisions we make today will not impact our future.

The mantra of “It’s not going to make a difference tomorrow” is a handy one to add to your bag of phrases.

About five minutes after I hit publish on this post I came across another post about making decisions.  Funny how things happen like that.  Anyway, this is a great post as well.  It’s by Darren at Escape from Mental Slavery.  What do you do when you can’t choose.

Check out those posts and let me know what you think. :)

Angry about Change

angry about change

by Eric Watermolen on September 21, 2011

In the past week I have noticed a couple of changes that have caused a bit of an uproar.  The first was a change at Netflix, the second was a change at Facebook.  People are enraged at the changes happening at these companies.  Comments of complaint have been written on their blog posts, campaigns have been started on Facebook, and even the news media is jumping on board with stories and opinion pieces.
What makes us so angry? [Continue Reading]

Yoga’s Long Term Health Benefits

by Thomas Stone on September 14, 2011

yoga's long term health benefits

Though it’s been in practice for hundreds of years, yoga remains an activity that many people have yet to try. Incorporating yoga into one’s exercise routine can have long-term mental, emotional, and physiological health benefits, including an increase in flexibility and strength, a reduction in high blood pressure, and stress relief. The exercise, combined with a healthy eating plan, may result in a longer, healthier life, an advantage few will pass up. Does yoga beat cardio? [Continue Reading]

How to Make a Decision

by Eric Watermolen on August 2, 2011

How to make a decision

The company I work at has a cafeteria that serves breakfast in the mornings.  They have a number of items that are ready to serve, like scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns, biscuits, and grits.  In the same location they have a grill where you can order a freshly made omelet, eggs of your choosing, or pancakes.  Most people walk right up, request an item or two and are one their way. The Ocean Waves Roll Gently

by Eric Watermolen on July 26, 2011

Balance between drifting and swimming

The ocean waves roll

Gently pressing towards shore

Pausing, retreating

Small wisps of seaweed

Gently tugged by the sea

Bobbing and floating
